Arianne Resources Inc. issues update on the transportation component of its Lac à Paul mining project, Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean, Québec, Canada. Public consultations on ore transportation begin

Alma, March 21, 2013. The management of Arianne Resources Inc. (“Arianne” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the commencement of public consultations on the Transportation component of its project to operate a  phosphate mine in Lac à Paul, located at kilometre 168 on Chemin des Passes, in the Lac-Saint-Jean region. Public  meetings will be held in municipalities most likely to be affected by road transportation, namely:

∙ Saint-Ludger-de-Milot, March 25, 2013, 7 p.m., Chalet récréatif (10 chemin de la Plage)

∙ Sainte-Monique, April 2, 2013, 7 p.m., Salle de l’âge d’or (121 rue de la Fabrique)

∙ Saint-Cœur-de-Marie, April 8, 2013, 7 p.m., Salle de l’âge d’or (5791 avenue du Pont Nord)

∙ Alma, April 10, 2013, 7 p.m., Hôtel Universel (1000 boulevard des Cascades)

Following these consultations, Arianne intends to create a Working Group on Transportation, with community representatives and experts in an effort to optimize this major component of the project.

The scenario currently under study involves transporting ore by road using heavy haulage trucks from the mine to a sorting centre located north of Saint-Ludger-de-Milot. The ore will then be transported by standard truck to a transfer yard located near the former Rio Tinto Alcan plant in Alma. From this location, the apatite concentrate will be shipped by train to North American markets or to the deep-water port in Grande-Anse, Saguenay, to supply mainly international markets.

During a press conference in Alma, the CEO of Arianne, Mr. Bernard Lapointe, reiterated, in the presence of numerous guests including the mayor of Alma, Mr. Marc Asselin, the importance of developing this project in collaboration with local communities. “It has always been of paramount importance for us that our project be developed in harmony with affected populations”, stated Mr. Lapointe.

In collaboration with municipal authorities in Alma, Arianne intends to pursue discussions with representatives from the  Ministère des Transports (MTQ) to make sure the project to build a bypass road in the Isle Maligne area continues to progress. Discussions to this effect are currently underway with representatives from the Québec government.

Arianne also intends to take part in maintenance committees for certain gravel roads in the Maria-Chapdelaine and Fjord du-Saguenay MRCs, which may eventually be used as secondary access roads to its Lac à Paul mining site, under its emergency preparedness plan.

The beginning of the mine construction is expected for 2014 while the exploitation will start in 2016. The environmental and social impact assessment will be filed to the Ministère of Sustainable Development, Environment, Wildlife and Parks  (MDDEFP) during summer 2013. Then, Lac à Paul project will be submitted for public approval by the Bureau  d’audiences publiques sur l’environnement (BAPE).

Arianne Resources Inc. (www.arianne-inc.com) owns and is developing the Lac à Paul phosphate-titanium deposit to produce a superior-grade apatite concentrate grading close to 40% P2O5. The Company currently has 76 M shares issued.
