Phosphorus and titanium

Mirepoix property

The property (wholly owned by Arianne) is located north of the Saguenay River, about 125 km from Chicoutimi (Quebec, Canada). The property is in the northeastern part of the anorthosite massif that characterizes the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region.

The work carried out by Arianne Resources, mainly in winter 2001, consisted of trenching, drilling, sampling and assays. The results brought to light mineralized intersections but, due to the relatively limited number of drill holes, a stratigraphic correlation could not be established between all the intersections obtained. Detailed mapping of the stripped zones along with additional drilling are therefore recommended for this area.

Specific gravity and magnetic separation and concentration tests produced an ilmenite concentrate of mediocre quality (30% TiO2) and a relatively good apatite concentrate with a P2O5 grade of 41.5%.
