La Dauversière project

R-14 property

Location and geology

The R-14 property includes 34 map-designated claims and 42 staked claims on NTS map sheet 32G09, about 35 kilometres southeast of the town of Chibougamau, in La Dauversière, Charron, Queylus and Dollier townships. The property is 100% owned by Arianne Resources.

The R-14 property is underlain by the northeastern part of the Abitibi Subprovince of the Superior Province. The property’s geological setting is somewhat similar to that of the Joe Mann mine, which produced more than 1.1 million ounces of gold and is located about 10 km from the property, on the southwestern edge of the La Dauversière Pluton, in the Guercheville deformation corridor.

The property is all the more interesting because it lies along Highway 167, is crossed by the CN railway, and is near a high-voltage transmission line.

Relevant previous work :

The R-14 showing was discovered in 1978, when a channel sample returned a value of 142.29 g/t Au over 2.44 metres. Intersections in subsequent drill holes yielded up to 10.6 g/t Au over 0.61 m and 21.37 g/t Au over 1.4 m.

Arianne acquired the property in 2004. It carried out stripping and collected samples that returned values such as 3.14 g/t, 13.25 g/t, 15.05 g/t, 23,8 g/t, 95,9 g/t, 125,5 g/t and 176 g/t Au.

An HEM survey was conducted in July 2007. The four (4) EM anomalies detected by the survey were prospected in the following months. Assaying of the samples did not produce any relevant results. The highest grade obtained was 0.076 ppm Au.

2008 work by Arianne :

In 2008, a 20-km resistivity/induced polarization survey (Abitibi Géophysique Inc.) was conducted during the winter. Prospecting and a program of 10 holes, totalling 1,482 m, were then carried out in June.

The induced polarization survey generated 24 chargeability anomalies, including nine which were drilled. The anomalies seem to be explained by sulphide stringers. No connection could be made between the anomalies and the presence of gold. Conductor EMH-02 is explained by the presence of oxidized iron formation (Hole R14-08-12).

The prospecting program led to the discovery of three new gold showings in the central portion of the property. Samples from these showing returned 1.4 g/t Au, 2.1 g/t Au and 8.2 g/t Au.

A porphyritic tonalite, which was intersected in drilling the eastern extension of showing R-14, returned intersections of 3.4 g/t Au over 1 metre and 5.5 g/t Au over 1.1 metres, both in drill hole R14-08-06. In addition, a 1.4-metre intersection in hole R14-08-07 returned 2.04 g/t Au in silicified gabbro.

The results are encouraging and make it possible to consider future prospecting and drilling work.
